Lisa has gained major expertise in the discipline of binding protein technology encompassing both antibodies and cellular receptors in areas such as therapeutics, diagnostics and food safety. She obtained a BSc in Biological Sciences at The University of Ulster in 1994. In 1999 she was awarded a PhD in Biological Sciences specialising in cancer research, immunodiagnostics and multiple drug resistance at Dublin City University . In 2000 Lisa took up a postdoctoral research Fellow position at the Veterinary Sciences Department of Queens University Belfast where she carried out research developing and applying new and emerging technologies for the detection of harmful contaminants in foods.
In 2006 she was appointed as lecturer in Toxin Food Safety within the Institute of Agri-Food and Land Use at Queens University Belfast. Lisa is currently establishing a vital research programme focusing on endocrine disrupting environmental and food based toxins resulting from modern day industrial, agricultural or natural sources and the effects that these contaminants may have on human health.
